AI Experience: A Strong Positive Outlook  

When asked about their experience with AI, 99% of employees rated it between 3 and 5, on a scale where 1 is very negative and 5 is very positive. Of those, 39% gave it the highest rating, reflecting an extremely positive outlook. This highlights the crucial role of AI in boosting productivity and efficiency across teams.  

Most Popular AI Tools  

ChatGPT leads as the most used AI tool, with 53% of employees using it regularly. For developers, GitHub Copilot is a game-changer, with 31% integrating it into their IDEs like VS Code and Visual Studio to streamline coding workflows, enhance productivity and improve code quality.   

AI Use Cases: How Employees Are Leveraging AI   

Employees are using AI in various ways, with two key areas standing out:  

  • Task Assistance – 33% of employees use AI to suggest functions and provide online editing, enabling employees to work more efficiently and accurately.   
  • Writing Code – 23% of employees use AI to write code, helping them to troubleshoot and solve complex coding challenges faster.   

Beyond these, AI is also being used to write tests, review PRs, and create multiple files or functions.  

Frequency of AI Use  

AI adoption varies among employees:  

  • 43% use AI daily, particularly for coding and debugging highlighting its essential role in day-to-day tasks.   
  • 51% use AI occasionally, mostly to overcome challenges as they arise.   

AI’s Role in Career Growth  

Employees recognise AI as an essential skill for the future, with 96% rating its importance between 3 and 5. 47% rated it the highest, underscoring the growing need to integrate AI into workflows to stay competitive in a rapidly evolving landscape. Embracing AI now equips employees with a vital skillset for tomorrow’s challenges.
